I’ll gather some friends and write a joint post about this at some point because it’s different for everyone, but I think that a lot of people find themselves in these roles by accident. Like, a dev who just happens to be a decent public speaker and just ends up being the face of the product. A good first step is joining DevRel communities, my last two DevRel jobs came from community referrals.
